Future of DE&I

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:
What does the new political environment mean for the future of DE&I ?

At the BrainMiner we have always said that life inside an organization is reflective of, and shaped by, the world outside that organization.

There is no escaping the fact that we live in interesting political times and external community tensions and political frameworks can challenge organisational strategies and even core values. Colleagues are drawn from all political persuasions and whilst that might create polarised living in the outside world, everyone must come together as one internally. This is difficult to navigate as a leader.

Politics is even challenging the role of DE&I in organizations, as far as its very existence. Everyone is talking about “woke” and very often DE&I gets dropped into that bucket. Whilst worrying for those of us who intuitively see DE&I as positive ways to generate respect for fellow humans and drive business defining innovation (amongst many things) there is perhaps opportunity here to take stock of where this agenda is going, where it needs to go and what we can do about it.

This 75 minute session discusses:

  • Where is DE&I at today? What are the threats to DE&I strategies? How did we get there?

  • What should we have perhaps done differently?

  • What are the sacred core principles of respect and inclusion?

  • Does the term DE&I need a rebrand? What baggage do these three letters have? Should we talk more about inclusion and belonging?

  • How can I continue to champion respect and inclusion in my business in a credible and cohesive manner?

  • How do we restate the DE&I business case for a 2030 world?

  • What does the future hold and how do we navigate it?

  • How does DE&I merge and align with other corporate agendas such as Leadership Development and Culture (to name a but a few) ?

This session is perfect for anyone who is passionate about DE&I but who appreciates the need for realistic change. You could be a head of DE&I, or an impassioned colleague at any level. You could even be the person responsible for the organization’s values, be that the project lead on that subject or even the CEO.
